Join us for the 3rd annual Fall Harvest Camp on the Long Beach Peninsula Fall Harvest Camp Dates October 24-29 We are only offering a total of 50 spaces for this camp, due to the fickle nature of the coastal Autumn season and how much time we may be spending together cozied up in the lodge. If the weather predictions appear mild as we move closer to camp, we'll consider releasing a few more. What's Included ? Your registration includes camping, firewood, classes, materials, and instruction. We will be offering 1 meal from our camp kitchen each day, with daily invitations to participate in potluck style shared meals as well. And Square Dances + music in the lodge will be back! We’ll be harvesting and processing the pacific Razor Clam, as well as providing all the gear required for harvest including clam guns. We'll also give you an introduction to razor clamming safety, harvesting laws, and harvesting protocol at the start of camp. October is also prime season here on the peninsula for harvesting cranberries, Dungeness Crab, Oysters, and fall season fungi. We'll be offering facilitated classes and excursions in harvesting all of these foods. Additionally, we'll be providing a warm, dry communal space with a cozy fireplace to hang out and gather, as well as an add on option to reserve a primitive dry cabin at our campground. As well as access to electricity, potable water, a pressure canning station, hot showers, flush toilets & portable bathrooms. If you’ve joined us for our Family Gathering, you’ll notice that our fall harvest camp is significantly scaled down, with a much slower pace, and a much lower registration amount. This camp is a time prepare for the coming winter season and celebrate the autumnal coastal abundance of foods and moody weatherscapes while slow crafting beside the fire. To Note! Weather on the coast in October can be stormy, windy, drizzly, and challenging at times if you're not accustomed to recreating in Fall season coastal weather.
